The South African Social Security Agency (SASSA) says beneficiaries whose social grants are under review will receive their August payments on Friday, 7 August, one day after the normal payment cycle.
The agency urged beneficiaries who do not receive their grants on 4, 5 or 6 August not to panic, explaining that payments for grants under review will be processed on the fourth payment day.
SASSA warned that beneficiaries must still complete the review process during August, as failure to do so could result in their grants being suspended or lapsing.
The agency said review notifications are sent via SMS and urged beneficiaries to keep their contact details updated. It added that the review process is a legal requirement to ensure grants are paid only to eligible recipients and to prevent fraud.
