More than 20 witnesses have already taken the stand in the high-profile murder trial of slain rapper Kiernan ‘AKA’ Forbes and celebrity chef Tebello ‘Tibz’ Motsoane, as the case has been postponed to April 2027.
The Durban High Court adjourned proceedings involving seven accused men, with the State expected to continue presenting its evidence when the trial resumes on 12 April.
According to the National Prosecuting Authority (NPA), the State has so far presented a range of evidence, including video footage, vehicle-tracking data, ballistic findings and financial records.
The seven accused face two counts of murder, conspiracy to commit murder, multiple counts of attempted murder and several firearm- and ammunition-related charges.
AKA and Tibz were shot dead outside a restaurant in Durban in February 2023, in a killing that sparked widespread public outrage and calls for justice.
The trial is scheduled to continue until 14 May 2027, with further State evidence expected to be presented.
All seven accused remain in custody.
