France secured their place in the 2026 FIFA World Cup semi-finals with a commanding 2-0 victory over Morocco in their quarter-final clash.
Kylian Mbappé and Ousmane Dembélé scored second-half goals to send Les Bleus through to the last four, ending Morocco’s hopes of reaching a second successive World Cup semi-final.
After missing a first-half penalty, Mbappé broke the deadlock in the 60th minute with a superb curling finish—his eighth goal of the tournament. Just six minutes later, the Real Madrid forward turned provider, setting up Dembélé to double France’s advantage.
Morocco struggled to create clear-cut chances against a disciplined French side and were unable to find a way back into the contest.
Mbappé was substituted late in the match and was seen applying ice to his foot on the bench, but appeared in good spirits as he celebrated with teammates after the final whistle.
The result also marked another World Cup heartbreak for Morocco at the hands of France, with the Atlas Lions once again falling 2-0 to Les Bleus after their semi-final defeat in Qatar in 2022.
France will now face the winner of the quarter-final between Spain and Belgium for a place in the 2026 FIFA World Cup final
