Mpumalanga taxi boss Bafana Oupa Sindane has approached the Gauteng High Court in an urgent bid to stop his appearance before the Madlanga Commission of Inquiry.
Sindane is seeking to interdict the commission from compelling him to testify and is also challenging its use of WhatsApp messages exchanged between him and fellow taxi boss Joe “Ferrari” Sibanyoni.
The application comes as Sindane was due to appear before the commission on Wednesday, where he is expected to face questions about his alleged links to police officers, financial dealings and communications with Sibanyoni.
Sindane and Sibanyoni are co-accused in a separate criminal case involving allegations of extortion and money laundering. Both have been granted bail.
