Crime Intelligence has uncovered a massive drug laboratory with an estimated street value of R100 million in the North West, in what is believed to be a major breakthrough in the fight against organised crime and drug trafficking.
Police confirmed that senior law enforcement officials, including Adele Myburgh and Amanda van Wyk, are on their way to the scene as investigations intensify.
Details surrounding the operation remain limited at this stage, but authorities say the discovery forms part of ongoing efforts to dismantle sophisticated drug manufacturing networks operating within South Africa.
The laboratory is believed to contain equipment and substances linked to the production and distribution of illegal narcotics, with the estimated value of the operation placing it among the significant drug busts recorded in the province.
Police are expected to release further information regarding possible arrests, the type of drugs involved and the exact location of the laboratory once preliminary investigations at the scene are concluded.
The discovery comes amid growing concerns over the expansion of organised drug syndicates and the impact of narcotics on communities across the country.
