Western Cape police have arrested four suspects in separate drug busts that resulted in the seizure of more than 2 400 mandrax tablets and quantities of tik.
Members of Napier SAPS arrested two men, aged 49 and 63, after intercepting a silver Chevrolet Spark on the R316 on Wednesday. Acting on information about a suspicious vehicle travelling towards Napier, officers stopped and searched the car, discovering 2 402 mandrax tablets.
The pair were arrested for dealing in drugs and are expected to appear in the Bredasdorp Magistrate’s Court on Thursday.
In a separate operation, members of Operation Lockdown 3 arrested two men, aged 33 and 38, in Epping Forest. Police conducted a raid at a property in Loughton Avenue, where they found the suspects in possession of 40 mandrax tablets and 20 sachets of tik.
The drugs were confiscated and booked in as evidence. The suspects are expected to appear in the Goodwood Magistrate’s Court on drug-related charges.
