Police in the Sarah Baartman District arrested 227 suspects during a series of crime-fighting operations conducted between 8 and 14 June 2026.
The arrests were made during 104 operations targeting various offences, including murder, immigration violations and drug dealing.
Crime intelligence-led operations involving the Sarah Baartman District Intervention Team and the South African National Defence Force resulted in 26 arrests. Three suspects were arrested in Humansdorp on 13 June during the execution of search warrants, with police confiscating mandrax, tik, cocaine and dagga worth an estimated R30,000 in KwaNomzamo.
Tracing operations led to the arrest of 148 suspects, while a further 53 were apprehended during tactically focused combat operations.
Police also issued fines totalling R27,000 during compliance inspections conducted across the district.
All suspects are expected to appear in various magistrates’ courts soon.
