Fresh off their Betway Premiership triumph, Orlando Pirates have officially unveiled four new signings as they begin preparations for the upcoming season.
The Buccaneers confirmed the arrivals of Mthetheleli Mthiyane from Stellenbosch FC, Sbangani Zulu from Richards Bay FC, as well as Bohale Ngwato and Ghampani Lungu from Siwelele FC.
The club’s announcement follows weeks of speculation linking the quartet with a move to the newly crowned league champions.
As part of the deal that brings Mthiyane to Orlando Pirates, defender Thabiso Lebitso will move in the opposite direction to join Stellenbosch FC in a swap arrangement.
Pirates indicated that additional information regarding the new signings, including squad numbers and integration plans, will be released in due course.
Five Players Depart
The Soweto giants also confirmed the departure of five players following the conclusion of the 2025/26 season.
Bandile Shandu, Sipho Mbule, Tshegofatso Mabasa, Karim Kimvuidi and Deivi Miguel Vieira, commonly known as Gilberto, will all leave the club after their contracts came to an end.
In a statement, Orlando Pirates thanked the departing players for their contributions and commitment during their time at the club.
“Each of the players departs having contributed to the Orlando Pirates journey in their own way,” the club said, while wishing them success in the next chapters of their respective careers.
The squad changes signal the beginning of a new era for the Buccaneers as they look to build on their championship-winning campaign and strengthen their squad ahead of domestic and continental competitions next season.
