Seven people have died and several others were injured following a devastating collision between a minibus taxi and an Algoa Bus Company bus in KwaNobuhle,Eastern Cape
The crash occurred when a fully loaded taxi transporting workers from KwaNobuhle towards town allegedly made a U-turn in front of the oncoming bus, which had only the driver on board. The bus then collided with the passenger side of the taxi.
Emergency services treated a total of 18 people at the scene. Two sustained serious injuries, while others suffered moderate to minor injuries and were taken to nearby hospitals for further care.
Authorities confirmed that seven people died as a result of the crash.
Emergency responders arrived swiftly, securing the scene and assisting the injured. Investigations are underway to determine the exact cause of the accident.
