Ramaphosa orders urgent action after women’s killings in Kempton Park

President Cyril Ramaphosa has directed law-enforcement agencies to prioritise investigations into the recent killings of women in and around Kempton Park, Gauteng.

The President expressed his condolences to the families and loved ones of the victims, saying the incidents had caused fear and uncertainty, particularly among women in the affected communities.

Ramaphosa said he had spoken to the Minister of Police and the Acting National Police Commissioner, who briefed him on the investigations.

He instructed police to leave no stone unturned in their efforts to identify and arrest those responsible.

“The law-enforcement agencies must prioritise these cases and ensure that the perpetrators are brought to justice,” Ramaphosa said.

Police are also working with members of the public as investigations continue. Residents with information that could assist detectives are urged to come forward.

The investigations are ongoing.
