Golden Arrows have reportedly parted ways with head coach Manqoba Mngqithi despite guiding the club to a sixth-place finish in the 2025/26 Betway Premiership season.
According to reports, Mngqithi’s departure was finalised earlier this week as the Durban-based club continues restructuring its technical team ahead of the new campaign.
The club has already confirmed the departures of assistant coaches Kagiso Dikgacoi and Musa Bilankulu, as well as goalkeeper coach Marcus Mashilo. Golden Arrows are now expected to appoint a new head coach before pre-season begins.
Mngqithi returned to the club during the latter stages of the 2024/25 season after leaving Mamelodi Sundowns and successfully steered Arrows away from relegation trouble. He later guided the team to a sixth-place finish with 41 points, securing their first top-eight finish since the 2020/21 season.
During his third spell at the club, Mngqithi oversaw 46 matches, recording 17 wins, 11 draws and 18 defeats. His tenure included a notable 1-0 victory over his former club, Mamelodi Sundowns.
Despite achieving the club’s objectives, Golden Arrows have opted to move in a different direction. Mngqithi has since been linked with a return to AmaZulu FC and a possible technical role at Kaizer Chiefs
