Bafana Bafana have arrived in Atlanta ahead of a crucial FIFA World Cup 2026 Group A encounter against the Czech Republic on Thursday.
South Africa heads into the match under pressure after suffering a 2-0 defeat to hosts Mexico in their opening game, while the Czech Republic also lost their first fixture.
The clash is widely regarded as a must-win for both sides. A victory would boost Bafana Bafana’s hopes of reaching the knockout stages, while a draw would leave qualification chances alive but dependent on a positive result against South Korea and other favourable outcomes.
A defeat, however, would leave South Africa facing an uphill battle to progress, although the expanded 48-team tournament offers additional qualification opportunities for some of the best third-placed teams.
