Bafana Bafana have been drawn in Group D of the 2027 CAF Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers following the official draw held in Cairo on Tuesday afternoon.
South Africa will face co-hosts Kenya, Guinea and Eritrea in the group stages of the qualification campaign.
The 2027 AFCON tournament will be staged in Kenya, Tanzania and Uganda from 19 June to 17 July 2027.
A total of 48 nations were drawn into 12 groups consisting of four teams each, with qualifying matches set to begin on 21 September 2026 and conclude on 30 March 2027.
Bafana Bafana will be hoping for a stronger campaign after their previous AFCON journey ended in the Last 16 following a defeat to Cameroon national football team at the Al Medina Stadium in Rabat, Morocco.
For now, however, the South African senior men’s national team remains focused on preparations for the 2026 FIFA World Cup, which will be hosted by the United States, Canada and Mexico from 11 June to 19 July 2026.
