Kaizer Chiefs have been dealt a double injury setback ahead of their final fixture before the upcoming FIFA International break, with goalkeeper Brandon Petersen and attacker Wandile Duba ruled out.
Petersen sustained a knee injury during training on Tuesday morning and is expected to be sidelined for four to six weeks. The goalkeeper, who has featured in every match since the start of the season in August, injured the medial collateral ligament in his left knee and will undergo rehabilitation.
Duba, meanwhile, will miss approximately two weeks after suffering a hip and groin injury. The attacker, who has scored three goals this season, has a minor defect in the affected area. The medical team will monitor his progress over the coming week before deciding on the next course of action.
Both players have played key roles in Chiefs’ strong start to the campaign, with the club wishing them a speedy recovery.
