Orlando Pirates continued their strong start to the Betway Premiership season with a 2-0 victory over Durban City at the Orlando Amstel Arena on Thursday evening.
The Buccaneers were made to work for the result, with the first half ending goalless as both sides created opportunities.
Pirates eventually broke the deadlock in the 57th minute when Lebone Seema rose to head home from a corner.
The hosts doubled their advantage 12 minutes later through Tshepang Moremi, who finished off a move involving Simphiwe Masilela to put Pirates 2-0 ahead.
Durban City struggled to find a way back into the match as Pirates controlled the closing stages to secure all three points.
The victory marked Pirates’ fourth consecutive league win and extended their unbeaten start to the campaign.
The result took Pirates to 16 points from six matches, while Durban City remained on six points.
