Kaizer Chiefs sell Glody Lilepo to Al Ahly Benghazi

Kaizer Chiefs have confirmed the departure of Democratic Republic of Congo international Glody Makabi Lilepo after reaching an agreement with Libyan side Al Ahly Benghazi over his transfer.

The 28-year-old winger leaves Naturena after an impressive 18-month spell in the Betway Premiership, during which he scored 15 goals and played a key role in Chiefs’ Nedbank Cup triumph and qualification for the CAF Confederation Cup.

Al Ahly Benghazi reportedly beat competition from Moroccan giants Raja Casablanca and AS FAR Rabat, submitting an offer that satisfied both the player and Kaizer Chiefs.

In a statement confirming the move, Amakhosi thanked Lilepo for his contribution to the club.

“The Club wishes Lilepo success in Libya and throughout the remainder of his football career.”

Lilepo now begins a new chapter in Libya after leaving Chiefs as one of the club’s standout performers over the past season and a half.
