Media personality Ntsiki Mazwai says she will contest the 2026 municipal elections as Johannesburg mayor under her newly launched Land Party.
Ntsiki Mazwai made the announcement on her official X account, posting: “PUBLIC SERVICE ANNOUNCEMENT: NTSIKI MAZWAI FOR JOBURG MAYOR.”
The move marks a significant shift for the poet, musician and activist, who is transitioning from the entertainment industry into politics.
Mazwai will run as the Land Party’s mayoral candidate for Johannesburg, where she is expected to face several high-profile contenders, including Helen Zille, Lukhona Mnguni, Herman Mashaba, Kenny Kunene and Mlungisi Mabasa.
