Two men aged 22 and 27 have been arrested in connection with the alleged statutory rape of a 14-year-old girl in Phalaborwa.
The arrests were made by the Family Violence, Child Protection and Sexual Offences (FCS) Unit on 10 June 2026 after the victim’s father allegedly discovered messages on her cellphone indicating she had been involved in sexual relationships with three adult men.
The matter was reported to police, and the victim was taken for a medical examination. Two suspects were arrested, while police continue searching for a third suspect.
The accused are expected to appear in the Phalaborwa Magistrate’s Court on 12 June 2026 on charges of statutory rape.
Limpopo Provincial Commissioner Lieutenant General Thembi Hadebe commended investigators, saying police remain committed to protecting children and bringing offenders to justice.
