Polokwane musician Lehlogonolo Katlego Chauke, widely known as Shebeshxt, has been denied bail for a third time by the Polokwane Magistrate’s Court.
The court ruled that Chauke failed to demonstrate exceptional circumstances that would justify his release, stating that it would not be in the interest of justice to grant bail at this stage.
Chauke is facing nine charges, including three counts of attempted murder, linked to an alleged road rage incident in November 2025. He is accused of opening fire on motorists and wounding a fan during the incident.
In its decision, the court emphasised the seriousness of the charges, concerns around public safety, and the fact that previous bail applications had already been dismissed.
The matter has been postponed to 15 May, when it is expected to continue in the regional court.
