Confederation of African Football (CAF) president Patrice Motsepe has strongly dismissed corruption allegations made by the Senegalese government following a controversial ruling in the Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) dispute involving Confederation of African Football.
Speaking in Morocco, Motsepe rejected the claims and said CAF had “nothing to hide,” adding that the organisation respects the legal sovereignty of all 54 member associations. He further stated that CAF would comply fully with any ruling issued by the Court of Arbitration for Sport.
The dispute stems from CAF’s decision relating to the Africa Cup of Nations final between Senegal and Morocco, where Senegal initially recorded a 1-0 victory before the result was later overturned to a 3-0 win in favour of Morocco due to regulatory breaches involving a walk-off incident.
