Orlando Pirates will be looking to secure a place in the Carling Knockout quarter-finals when they host Milford FC at the Orlando Amstel Arena on Tuesday, 27 October.
The match, scheduled for 19:00, will see the two teams meet for the first time in the Carling Knockout competition.
The Buccaneers enter the encounter as defending champions after recently defeating African Stars 4-0 in the second leg of their CAF Champions League preliminary round tie, securing a 5-0 aggregate victory to advance to the group stages.
However, Pirates will need to remain focused against a Milford side that has shown improvement in recent matches. The newly promoted team has gone four games unbeaten and will be determined to cause an upset against the Soweto giants.
Milford coach Xanti Pupuma believes his side has improved since their previous 2-0 league defeat to Pirates and will be eager to produce a stronger performance in the cup competition.
Pirates coach Abdeslam Ouaddou has also warned that Milford should not be underestimated as his team seeks to defend its Carling Knockout title.
The encounter will be particularly important for Pirates, who face arch-rivals Kaizer Chiefs in the highly anticipated Soweto Derby at FNB Stadium on Saturday, 31 October.
With the derby expected to draw a packed crowd, Pirates will be hoping to progress in the cup before turning their attention to one of the biggest fixtures on the South African football calendar.
The clash against Chiefs will carry significant weight in the Betway Premiership, with both teams eager to claim the points, bragging rights and supporter’s pride.
