Joe Sibanyoni and Bafana Sindane’s extortion case postponed to 20 April

The extortion and money laundering case involving Mpumalanga taxi boss Joe “Ferrari” Sibanyoni, Bafana “King of the Sky” Sindane and two co-accused has been postponed to 20 April.

The accused are alleged to have demanded more than R2.2 million in protection fees from a mining businessman between 2022 and 2025.

The case has previously faced delays amid disputes between the State and the defence over the charge sheet and access to the case docket.

Sibanyoni, Sindane, Mvimbi Daniel Masilela and Philemon Makhaya Msiza were previously granted bail of R70,000 each.

The four accused are expected to return to court on 20 April as proceedings continue. They remain presumed innocent until proven guilty in court.
