A senior Highlanders FC executive has died in a horrific road accident that also left two other club officials injured after their vehicle collided with a cow before crashing into a bus on the Harare-Bulawayo Highway.
The tragedy occurred on Thursday evening, 23 July 2026, near the Lochard area, about 50 to 60 kilometres outside Bulawayo, as Highlanders FC Executive Chairman, Retired Colonel Kenneth Mhlophe, Vice-Chairman Fiso Siziba and Treasurer Nkani Khoza were returning from Kariba following the club’s match against ZPC Kariba.
According to preliminary reports, the vehicle, allegedly driven by Treasurer Nkani Khoza, struck a cow before veering into the path of an oncoming bus, resulting in a devastating collision and rollover.
A female passenger was thrown from the vehicle during the impact and was fatally struck by another passing vehicle. She died at the scene.
Authorities are investigating the circumstances surrounding the fatal crash.
