Brown Mogotsi is expected to return to the Johannesburg Magistrate’s Court for a highly anticipated bail hearing as he faces a string of serious criminal charges.
Mogotsi is accused of unlawful possession of a firearm and ammunition, discharging a firearm in a built-up area, defeating the ends of justice, and perjury. The charges also relate to allegations that he staged a hit on his own life in November last year.
His bail application was postponed last week, leaving him in custody pending his next court appearance. Mogotsi remains behind bars as the case continues to unfold.
The matter is expected to resume at the Johannesburg Magistrate’s Court, where further arguments around his release will be heard.
