Three people have been killed in a head-on collision involving an Audi and a Toyota Avanza on the N2 near Colchester, before Kinkelbos, towards Makhanda.
The crash occurred at approximately 18:00 on Sunday, 1 November 2026.
Preliminary reports indicate that the Toyota Avanza was travelling from Makhanda with a male driver, while the Audi was occupied by a male driver and a female passenger.
The vehicles collided head-on while travelling in opposite directions. All three occupants died and were trapped in the wreckage. Emergency personnel used the Jaws of Life to extricate their bodies.
The cause of the collision has not yet been established and remains under investigation.
