Prominent lekompo musician Shebe Maburna is back in the Polokwane Regional Court on Friday for a pre-trial hearing as he faces multiple serious criminal charges.
Maburna has been in custody since his arrest in November 2025 and is facing 20 charges, including three counts of attempted murder.
His bail applications have been denied twice, with the court finding that he should remain behind bars while the case proceeds.
The matter returns to court for a pre-trial hearing after it was previously postponed to allow Maburna’s legal representative time to appoint an advocate to handle the trial.
The State is expected to update the court on the readiness of both parties ahead of the trial, while the defence is expected to indicate whether an advocate has been appointed.
