Bafana Bafana will take on Jamaica national football team in an international friendly on Friday as preparations for the 2026 FIFA World Cup enter the final stretch.
The match will be played at the Hidalgo Stadium in Pachuca, Mexico, with kick-off scheduled for 21:00 South African time.
The encounter will serve as Bafana Bafana’s final warm-up match before they begin their World Cup campaign against co-hosts Mexico national football team on 11 June.
Head coach Hugo Broos confirmed the fixture and said it could provide an indication of the team he plans to field in the tournament opener.
“We have another game on the 5th of June against Jamaica. I hope that opponent will play football against us and that can be the first indication of the squad that will start against Mexico,” said Broos.
With the World Cup now just days away, the Jamaica clash offers Broos one last opportunity to assess his players and fine-tune his plans before Bafana Bafana’s highly anticipated opening match in Mexico.
