A 53-year-old scholar transport driver has been shot dead in Westbury, Johannesburg, with police launching a manhunt for two suspects.
The shooting happened at about 8:10am on Monday, 7 September, shortly after the victim had dropped off schoolchildren.
Police said the driver was about to park his vehicle at a flat when two men approached and opened fire. He sustained multiple gunshot wounds and was declared dead at the scene.
The suspects allegedly fled in a blue Volkswagen Polo.
The motive for the shooting is not yet known. Sophiatown police have opened a murder case, and no arrests have been made.
