Three suspects arrested with stolen livestock worth R100.000

Three suspects aged between 35 and 45 have been arrested in Parys after police recovered 10 cattle believed to have been stolen.

According to South African Police Service, the arrests were made on Thursday, 21 May 2026, following a coordinated operation involving the Fezile Dabi District Highway Patrol, Vereeniging VCIU, Sasolburg POP, and private security.

Police received information about a white Isuzu bakkie towing a red trailer that was allegedly linked to stock theft activities. The vehicle was later spotted travelling along the R59 and was intercepted before being taken to Parys SAPS for further investigation.

A preliminary investigation confirmed that the cattle had been stolen. The three suspects were immediately arrested for possession of suspected stolen livestock.

Police confiscated the vehicle and trailer used in the alleged crime, while the recovered cattle are estimated to be worth R100 000.

The suspects are expected to appear before the Parys Magistrate’s Court soon on charges relating to possession of suspected stolen livestock.
