Police in KwaZulu-Natal have arrested a suspect in Chatsworth following a significant breakthrough in the fight against drug trafficking and illegal firearms possession.
Members of the Provincial Drugs and Firearms Unit, working alongside a K9 unit from South African Police Service’s E2 partner, acted on intelligence regarding a man allegedly involved in drug dealing.
Upon searching the suspect’s property on Thursday, 21 May 2026, officers discovered rock cocaine and mandrax tablets with an estimated street value of more than R220 000. Police also recovered four rounds of ammunition and R4 000 in cash, believed to be proceeds of criminal activity.
The suspect is expected to appear in court soon on charges of possession and dealing in drugs, as well as illegal possession of ammunition.
