British-Zimbabwean national Ndodana Tshuma has returned to the Johannesburg Magistrate’s Court, where extradition proceedings against him are continuing as the United Kingdom seeks to have him stand trial for the alleged murders of his wife and two young daughters.
Tshuma is wanted by British authorities in connection with the deaths of his wife, 42-year-old Nothabo Zandile Tshuma, and their daughters, Natalie (15) and Nala (5).
The three were found dead at the family’s home in Great Denham, near Bedford, in the United Kingdom after police forced entry following concerns that they had not been seen for several days.
In addition to the extradition proceedings, Tshuma is also facing a South African charge of possessing an unlicensed firearm.
The Johannesburg Magistrate’s Court is expected to determine whether Tshuma can legally be extradited to the UK to face the triple murder charges.
During the previous court appearance, State prosecutor Henry Mbobo requested that the matter be postponed to allow authorities time to verify Tshuma’s immigration status in South Africa.
