The bail bid by two men accused of the murder of former boxing champion Zolani Tete will resume on Friday, with the court expected to receive further developments, including a ballistic report.
Uzuzole Goqwana, 22, and Sinebhongo Qase, 28, are the two remaining accused seeking bail in the matter.
The State alleges that Goqwana played a central role in the alleged plot to kill Tete, describing him as the alleged mastermind, while Qase is accused of acting as a middleman.
The ballistic report could provide significant evidence as investigators continue to establish what happened during the alleged killing and whether the available forensic evidence links any of the accused to the shooting.
The State is opposing the bail applications, with investigating officer Warrant Officer Nkululeko Mtati having already testified during the proceedings.
Prosecutors have raised the seriousness of the charges, as well as concerns relating to the safety of the accused and possible interference with the investigation.
Meanwhile, Siphesihle Kolisa and Athandwa Gangala, who were also arrested in connection with the case, have abandoned their bail applications.
The matter was postponed to Friday
The accused remain in custody pending the continuation of the bail proceedings.
