Two men sentenced for separate Nqweba murders

Two men have been convicted and sentenced for murder in separate cases heard in the Addo Regional Court.

Andile Manyube, 52, was sentenced to life imprisonment after killing his girlfriend at their home in Moses Mabida, Nqweba. Manyube had reported to police that he had assaulted the woman before officers found her body with an open wound to her forehead and multiple bruises.

In a separate case, 24-year-old Thandolwethu Madolo was sentenced to 10 years’ direct imprisonment for fatally stabbing a tenant in Lollo Village.

According to police, Madolo had entered a yard while chasing another man. The man managed to escape and lock himself inside a house.

When a tenant came outside to investigate the commotion, Madolo allegedly turned his aggression towards him and fatally stabbed him

Major General Kupiso praised the police officers and detectives involved, saying the sentences demonstrate that violent offenders will be held accountable.

“We highly welcome these separate sentences handed down by the Addo Regional Court. They serve as a harsh reminder that the long arm of the law will always catch up with those who disregard human life,” said Kupiso.
