The Nkowankowa Regional Court has sentenced a 40-year-old man from Sedan Village in Limpopo to two life terms in prison for raping two boys aged seven and 11.
The National Prosecuting Authority (NPA) said the man lured the victims to his home in March 2022 after offering them food, before threatening them with a taser and repeatedly raping them. The abuse came to light after one of the boys confided in a friend, who alerted his family.
In addition to the life sentences, the court declared the convicted man unfit to possess a firearm and ordered that his name be entered into the National Register for Sex Offenders.
The NPA welcomed the sentence, saying it reflects the seriousness of sexual offences against children. Limpopo Director of Public Prosecutions Advocate Ivy Thenga praised the prosecution and investigating teams for securing the conviction.
