South African motorists are expected to pay significantly more for petrol and diesel from Wednesday, 2 September, as higher global oil prices continue to push up the cost of fuel.
According to the latest month-end data from the Central Energy Fund (CEF), 93 unleaded petrol is expected to increase by about 96 cents per litre, while 95 unleaded could rise by approximately R1.07.
Diesel motorists face the steepest hikes, with 500ppm diesel projected to increase by around R2.71 per litre and 50ppm diesel by about R2.92. Illuminating paraffin is also expected to rise by roughly R2.12 per litre.
