Two men, aged 22 and 34, are expected to appear before the Seshego Magistrate’s Court on Monday, 20 July 2026, after they were arrested for allegedly being in possession of a suspected stolen motor vehicle in Limpopo.
The suspects were arrested by members of the South African Police Service (SAPS) Flying Squad in the Capricorn District during an intelligence-driven operation on Friday, 18 July.
According to police, officers received information from a vehicle tracking company about a white Toyota Etios that had reportedly been stolen in the Westernburg policing area. The tracking signal indicated that the vehicle was travelling in the Ga-Matlala Lepotlako area.
Flying Squad members immediately responded to the tip-off and intercepted the vehicle on Matlala Road. Upon stopping the vehicle, officers found two male occupants inside and arrested them for possession of a suspected stolen motor vehicle.
Acting Limpopo Provincial Police Commissioner Major General Jan Scheepers praised the officers for their swift action in tracking down the vehicle and apprehending the suspects.
He commended the members for their quick response and continued commitment to combating vehicle-related crime across the province.
The two suspects remain in police custody and are expected to make their first court appearance in the Seshego Magistrate’s Court on Monday.
