Police in Qumbu are investigating a murder case and two counts of attempted murder following a shooting incident at a pharmacy in Sejoseng Business Centre on Saturday, 13 June 2026.
According to police, officers responded to reports of an active shooting at the premises at approximately 11:20. Upon arrival, they found a 26-year-old man lying dead behind the counter. Two other individuals survived the attack, with one sustaining injuries to the lower body and being transported to a medical facility for treatment, while the other escaped unharmed.
It is alleged that the three victims had arrived at the pharmacy to purchase masks when gunfire suddenly erupted as they attempted to enter the building. The victims reportedly took cover inside the pharmacy, but the shooting continued for some time before the suspect or suspects fled the scene.
Police confirmed that nothing was stolen from either the victims or the pharmacy, and the motive for the attack has not yet been established.
Crime scene investigators recovered multiple rifle cartridges, projectiles and sealed bullets as part of the investigation.
No arrests have been made, and the suspects remain unknown. Police investigations are ongoing.
