PSL goal machine Peter Shalulile leaves Mamelodi Sundowns

One of the greatest chapters in Mamelodi Sundowns’ history has officially come to an end after club legend Peter Shalulile parted ways with the Brazilians following the expiry of his contract.

The Namibian striker leaves Chloorkop after six trophy-filled years, with both the club and player agreeing not to activate the one-year extension option in his contract.

Shalulile walks away as one of the most decorated and feared forwards in Premier Soccer League history, having broken goal-scoring records, won multiple league titles and domestic cups, and played a key role in Sundowns’ CAF Champions League campaigns.

While speculation over his future intensified throughout the 2025/26 season amid reduced game time under coach Miguel Cardoso, the club’s decision to reshape its squad ultimately brought an end to his remarkable spell.

Now a free agent, the 32-year-old is expected to attract interest from clubs across Africa and the Middle East, setting the stage for the next chapter of his illustrious career.

Shalulile leaves Mamelodi Sundowns not in controversy, but as a club legend whose goals, trophies and unforgettable performances have cemented his place among the PSL’s all-time greats.
