After more than a decade under DJ Tira’s Afrotainment banner, Gqom star Dladla Mshunqisi is stepping into a new chapter — this time as his own boss.
The musician, whose real name is Anele Dladla, has left the label and launched Mshunqo Records, signalling his intention to take full control of his music career.
Dladla built his name in the Gqom scene with popular tracks such as “Omunye” and “Amalukuluku” during his time at Afrotainment.
The artist says he has reached a point in his career where he feels mature and confident enough to chart his own path.
While his departure marks the end of a long association with Afrotainment, Dladla has made it clear that it is not the end of his music journey.
He is expected to continue releasing new music under his own label as he enters what could be one of the most significant chapters of his career.
