A case of culpable homicide has been opened by the Komga police after four men perished to death when a Polo they were in collided with a truck on the N2 about 12 kilometres from Kei Bridge on Wednesday.
Transport Department spokesperson Unathi Binqose said all the occupants in the car died on the scene.
“It is alleged the driver of the (Polo) Vivo lost control of the vehicle while driving down towards the Kei Bridge from EL direction. It slammed onto the truck and all 4 occupants died on the scene,” he said.
Truck driver and two passengers were not hurt.
