Lekompo musician Lehlogonolo ‘Shebe Maburna’ Chauke will spend more time behind bars after the Polokwane Magistrate’s Court postponed his bail application to 9 November 2026.
The postponement came after two days of cross-examination in his second bail application based on new facts.
Magistrate Godfrey Netshiozwi said the extensive affidavits submitted during the proceedings still required further examination by the State.
Chauke is facing 21 charges, including attempted murder and assault, in cases that have been consolidated.
His defence has challenged aspects of the State’s case, including evidence relating to an alleged shooting in Ladanna, Polokwane, in October 2025.
The State is opposing his release, while his legal team is seeking to convince the court that new facts justify granting him bail.
The matter is expected to resume on 9 November, when the court will continue considering his application.
