North West businessman Carrim Suliman is facing additional criminal charges over the alleged employment of undocumented foreign nationals.
The State is expected to add the charges when Suliman appears alongside his two employees, Musa Phiri and Zakes Ibrahim, in the Musina Magistrate’s Court on Friday, 30 October 2026.
The two employees were arrested in July at the Beitbridge Border Post while allegedly attempting to smuggle two bank-financed vehicles into Malawi using fraudulent documents.
Suliman was subsequently linked to the case and faces charges relating to attempted vehicle theft, fraud and uttering.
The latest charges add to his legal troubles following his arrest over his alleged failure to appear before the Madlanga Commission of Inquiry. He was granted R100 000 bail in that separate matter on 28 October.
