Tumahole police are investigating a rape case involving an educator at Yakhisizwe Secondary School following allegations that a learner was sexually assaulted in the teacher’s office.
According to a report made to police, the alleged incident occurred in June 2026, when the educator allegedly threatened the learner with a knife and raped her in an office.
The report further states that on Tuesday, 22 September 2026, during Heritage Day celebrations at the school, a colleague of the alleged suspect instructed the learner to take a chair to the educator’s office.
Upon arrival, the educator allegedly locked the learner inside the office and raped her.
The incident was reported to Tumahole SAPS. The learner was interviewed in the station’s Victim-Friendly Room before being taken to hospital for a medical examination.
Police confirmed that investigations are ongoing and that no arrest has been made at this stage
