Eastern Cape Department of Education spokesperson Vuyiseka Mboxela has been cleared of six misconduct charges after spending 14 months on suspension.
Mboxela’s suspension followed allegations of workplace misconduct, including bullying and harassment, which led to disciplinary proceedings within the department.
She was placed on precautionary suspension in August 2025 alongside another senior departmental official while the allegations were investigated.
The suspension attracted public attention in November 2025 when Mboxela announced that she intended to return to work, while the department maintained that her suspension remained in place.
On her social media pages, Mboxela thanked everyone that supported her throughout her suspension journey, including her lawyers.
