Two suspects are set to appear in the Secunda Magistrate’s Court today following their arrest and the seizure of dagga worth an estimated R80,000 in Secunda.
The suspects were arrested on Saturday, 26 September 2026, after police intercepted a vehicle that had allegedly failed to stop when instructed by officers in Ermelo.
The Secunda Flying Squad, supported by the Ermelo K9 Unit, pursued the vehicle before it was stopped in the Brendan Village area of Secunda.
During a search of the vehicle, police discovered the dagga, leading to the arrest of the two suspects.
They are facing charges of dealing in dagga.
Mpumalanga Provincial Commissioner Lieutenant General Apaphia Modise praised the officers for their swift response and coordination.
“This operational success is a clear demonstration of the importance of effective communication and coordination by various Police units,” said Modise.
She said police would continue intensifying efforts to combat drug trafficking and its contribution to crime in communities.
