Eastern Cape Police Commissioner Lieutenant General Vuyisile Ncata is conducting aerial patrols across the Buffalo City District to monitor law enforcement deployments as authorities continue overseeing the June 30 protests.
Ncata began the day with a morning parade at the Buffalo Volunteer Rifle in KuGompo, where he addressed officers before holding a media briefing on the province’s operational deployment.
Police said small groups of protesters have gathered in various parts of the Eastern Cape, but the situation remains calm and stable. SAPS members continue to maintain a strong visible presence through patrols, vehicle checkpoints and business inspections.
No major incidents have been reported, with authorities continuing to monitor developments across the province
