Police have launched an investigation into a case of murder, kidnapping and carjacking following the execution-style killing of two men in Mtuvi Location, Dutywa on Wednesday night.
According to police, officers were called to a murder scene at a homestead in Mtuvi Location, Taleni Administrative Area, at about 23:00 on 20 May 2026.
Upon arrival, police discovered the bodies of two men with gunshot wounds.
Preliminary investigations revealed that three unknown armed suspects allegedly stormed the home of the first victim while he was with his girlfriend. The suspects reportedly kidnapped the couple and hijacked the woman’s vehicle.
The victims were then allegedly taken to the home of the second victim, who was also in the company of his girlfriend.
Police say both men were fatally shot, while the two women were left unharmed during the ordeal.
The hijacked getaway vehicle was later found abandoned a few kilometres away from the scene. The suspects remain at large.
Police investigations into the motive behind the killings are ongoing.
