The highly anticipated testimony of Vusi “Cat” Madlanga will now be heard on 15 July after the commission’s evidence leaders and his legal representatives agreed to a short postponement.
Madlala, who is facing multiple criminal charges, is expected to play a pivotal role in the commission’s investigation into allegations of corruption, criminal infiltration and political interference within the South African Police Service (SAPS) and other state institutions.
His appearance is regarded as one of the most significant moments of the inquiry, with his evidence expected to shed light on claims that have rocked law enforcement and government.
The commission’s decision to postpone his testimony briefly follows an agreement between both parties, paving the way for what is expected to be a closely watched and potentially explosive hearing.
