Major-General Lesetja Senona is expected to return to the Madlanga Commission today after his testimony was postponed earlier due to the illness of his legal representative.
Senona’s appearance is anticipated to provide crucial insight into the mysterious disappearance of 541 kilograms of cocaine, valued at approximately R200 million, from Hawks custody.
The commission is investigating whether the massive drug theft was an inside job involving officials or the result of a major security breach. Senona’s testimony is expected to shed light on the handling, storage and security of the seized narcotics, as investigators seek answers in a case that has raised serious concerns about accountability within law enforcement.
