Bafana Bafana continued their unbeaten run against Egypt under coach Pitso Mosimane with a hard-fought 1-0 victory over the Pharaohs in Cairo on Sunday night.
Puso Dithejane scored the decisive goal in the second half to hand South Africa their third consecutive victory since Mosimane returned for his second spell in charge.
The result adds to Mosimane’s impressive record against Egypt. In four meetings as Bafana coach, he has yet to lose to the Pharaohs, having previously recorded a 1-0 victory and a 0-0 draw in 2011.
South Africa’s overall record against Egypt also remains favourable, with eight wins, two draws and five defeats from 15 meetings.
The victory caps a strong international window for Mosimane, with Bafana also defeating Guinea 2-1 and Eritrea 5-0.
